Lucien D. McArdle arrived to the Washington Territory in 1883 and served in the Washington State House of Representatives. Mr. McArdle was an avid collector of books of Northwest Americans as well as a collection of papers of correspondence, newspaper clippings and reports of the Pacific Northwest throughout his lifetime.
Known as the Golden Jubilee Project the collection was purchased in 1939 Mr. McArdles death.

The priceless collection is currently housed at Pioneer Hall which is undergoing building renovations to preserve the historic landmark for generations. You are welcome to donate to the building fund.
