The state memorial scholarship was established in May of 1940 to aide deserving college students who are descendants of pioneers of Washington Territory prior to 1870.
Funding is acquired by contributions from members and chapters wishing to honor the memory of members and/or pioneers.
Each year up to two (2) applicants are awarded $1500.
In order to be eligible for the scholarship you must be a pioneer descendent and a full-time college junior, senior or graduate student enrolled at an accredited Washington state institution.
Preference is given to History, Education and English majors.
Application form will be posted in the Fall of 2025 for the April 1, 2026 deadline.
